Description

This 14 session, twice a week course is designed to introduce sailors to basic racing knowledge and skills. Sailors will learn:

• Racing rules

• Starting and buoy roundings

• Advanced wind reading knowledge

• Basic boat handling

Students must have completed Opti/Butterfly Intermediate course to enter along with instructor approval. Sailors will be on Optis or Butterflys. After completion of this course the sailor will have basic racing knowledge and be able to successfully sail around a race course. Instructors build on sailors’ prior knowledge with each session.

Age & Experience

Age 10+

Intermediate

• Sailor must have mastered basic sailing skills

Shows mastery of skills / Completion of Opti Intermediate or Butterfly Intermediate

No instructor on the boat

$200 for 7 Weeks (14 classes)

Intro to Racing classes run Mondays and Thursdays from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM on the following dates:

• Monday June 8 & Thursday June 11

• Monday June 14 & Thursday June 18

• Monday June 22 & Thursday June 25

• Monday June 29 & Thursday July 2

• Monday July 6 & Thursday July 9

• Monday July 20 & Thursday July 23

• Monday July 27 & Thursday July 31
